Why is the brightness of OLED significantly higher than LCD?




The OLED active display device is self-illuminating at a specific pixel of the display content, and is realized by a single layer polarizer; the LCD is a passive display device, and needs other light sources (backlights) to be illuminated, and can be displayed through CF, liquid crystal glass, and polarizer. 
The LCD is limited to the two main reasons of aperture ratio and 5-layer optical structure limitation. The transmittance is always over 10%, and it can be as high as 7%. Therefore, LCD wants to achieve higher brightness. It is necessary to increase the brightness of the backlight itself, that is, to sacrifice a large power consumption to exchange the brightness.
l, this is now the main reason why the brightness of the LCD is hard to exceed 1000 lumens, and the contrast is hard to exceed 1500. OLEDs do not have this limitation. They can achieve high brightness contrast and easily reach 3000, which is far from a level.
Also because of the different display principles, OLEDs can achieve higher efficiency and better viewing angle than LCD.
